The Promise of the Spirit -- The Comforter
January 23 & 24
Jesus told His disciples that it was to their advantage for Him to go away. What could be better than having Jesus close by where you can talk with Him and walk with Him at all times? Having Jesus be able to walk and talk with every single one of His disciples to the end of the world not just His original followers. For Him to be intimately available so He can literally dwell within each of us. That is what the Holy Spirit brings to the table in this massive spiritual warfare we are involved in, the very presence of Jesus. When you are weeping with sorrow and despair He is there to bring you comfort and strength. Everything the Holy Spirit reveals to you is exactly what Jesus wants you to see, understand, and live. Every time you are impressed to do what is right, it is Jesus standing by your side pointing the way. The more you listen to and follow His voice the clearer His voice will become to your heart. It is His way of shaping and molding your character to reflect His character. You can start today by simply being the person you know He has already called you to be. He has supplied the grace and power to come to your aid through the presence of the Holy Spirit that dwells in you. Thank Jesus every morning for the gift of the Comforter, Helper, who is also the Spirit of Truth. Thank Jesus all through the day for this amazing gift. Thank Him when you find yourself right in the heat of the battle. Lift your heart and voice up to Jesus, right then and there and say, “Thank you Jesus for your gift of the Holy Spirit that gives me the victory” and then proceed to walk victoriously. Thank Him all the day long, I extend this challenge out to you and see if it does not make a difference in your walk with Jesus.
Have a great day! Thank you for spending some time considering these thoughts.
