The Moving of the Spirit
.

January 21 & 22

Jesus told Nicodemus the working of the Holy Spirit was like the blowing of the wind. When I am outdoors working I enjoy a gentle breeze especially when it is hot, but of course I have no control over any aspect of the wind. Whether a gentle breeze or a powerful gust it will do what it will do. And so it is with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit knows exactly what needs to be done in every soul. And if received and yielded to He will bring a joy that will not be contained.

Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified”. John 7:37-39 NKJV

In John 4:14 Jesus put it like this, “But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life”. The last thing Satan wants is for you to become someone who falls so in love with Jesus that you cannot stop praising Him and talking about what He has done in your life. So beware, Satan will do all he can to discourage, confuse, distract, and complicate your life to the point where you no longer have time to allow the Spirit to continue working in your life. Satan’s goal is to dry up that fountain of living water. Continually receive the light and truth the Spirit of Truth brings close to home. Humble yourself to His teaching and correcting. And your life will be like a fountain of water to many thirsting souls looking for something better. You can have the privilege of being that someone that shares that something they are looking for. Go ahead, give them a drink, be “a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life”.

Have a great day! Thank you for spending some time considering these thoughts.
