The Promise of the Spirit -- The Comforter
January 11 & 12
There is a little chorus that says: “I’ll shout it from the mountain tops, I want the world to know, the Lord of love has come to me, I want to pass it on.” In Scripture there are spiritual laws that govern the spiritual life just as surely there are physical laws that govern the physical world. One of them is when you truly drink from the fountain of living water, which Christ offers, you become a source of refreshing water yourself. Your invitation will be that of the Psalmist, “O taste and see that the Lord is good”. You receive to share. This principle will permeate every aspect of your life. Continually seeking how you might bless others to give them a taste of the grace and love of Jesus. The more you give, the more you’ll want, until all selfishness is banished from the soul. Paul in his letter to the Ephesians admonishes us to wrap our lives with what feeds this spiritual principle. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, always remembering to pray fervently in the Spirit not for ourselves only but, for all the “saints”.
But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never
thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a
fountain of water spinning up into everlasting life. John 4:14
Have a great day! Thank you for spending some time considering these thoughts.
